Now we able to measure the tension of silicone inside the Lever, thanks to "TST Rig".

First thing first, Silicone Elastomer have different hardness dan can be measured using a Durometer. Higher hardness number gives more tension, simple.

But, hardness is not the only things that determine tension. there are many factor, like how much the material in the part (Design), and how "relax" the silicone inside the lever (Compression). for now let's focus on Design, we will talk about compression on other topics.

GL silicone has three design:

  • Standard model that has equal material 360'. Idea is to have equal tension on all directions.

  • Dual Tension X model, it has less material at diagonals. Idea is to have less tension on corners.

  • Dual Tension + model, it has more material on cardinals. Idea is to have more tension on cardinal directions.
Now, let's measure the Silicone tension for every model. To get the most tension from the silicone, we remove the switch and use white GL parts to avoid compression. We have some challenge to determine the start position due to Korean lever design, but we will improve it next time to get more accurate readings.
